Product Overview
Sodium Sulfite – Technical Grade
Sodium Sulfite (Na₂SO₃) is a white to pale yellow crystalline solid widely used as a reducing agent, oxygen scavenger, and chemical intermediate in industrial and water treatment applications. This technical-grade material is valued for its stability, high solubility in water, and versatility in chemical processing, bleaching, and preservation processes.
Applications:
Water Treatment & Dechlorination:
Removes residual chlorine and chloramine in municipal and industrial water systems, protecting downstream equipment and processes.
Boiler Water & Oxygen Removal:
Acts as an oxygen scavenger in boiler feedwater, reducing corrosion and extending equipment life.
Pulp, Paper & Textile Bleaching:
Used in bleaching pulp, silk, and textiles while minimizing fiber degradation.
Chemical Manufacturing:
Functions as a sulfonating and reducing agent in the production of surfactants, dyes, and other specialty chemicals.
Leather Tanning & Chrome Reduction:
Reduces hexavalent chromium to trivalent chromium in tanning processes and wastewater treatment.
Gas Cleaning & Emissions Control:
Used in flue gas desulfurization systems to reduce sulfur emissions.
